This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Carmenere from Chile is a very good value. It opens with a black cherry and fig bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty plum with notes of oak and gentle earthy minerality. I also detected hints of black olive and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins shoe nice length. This is a very good weekday wine.
